PRINCIPLES

 

Eastville, Midville and New Leake Village Hall Management Committee believes that discrimination on the grounds of sex, colour, religion, origin, culture or ability is unacceptable.

 

We recognize that everyone has a contribution to make to our society and a right to equal treatment.  We aim to ensure that no-one connected with the hall will be discriminated against.

 

We aim to foster awareness of prejudices in all concerned with the village hall and aim to encourage the removal of such prejudices.

 

We also aim to ensure that no-one connected with the village hall suffers from discrimination and the management committee commits itself to taking positive action against such discrimination.

 

Eastville, Midville and New Leake Village Hall Management Committee is committed to

Ÿ        Its structure and actions reflect a range of needs and interests encompassing the disadvantaged.

 

RECRUITMENT AND PROMOTION

 

Eastville, Midville and New Leake Village Hall Management Committee will take positive action to ensure its services to and contacts with other groups and individuals reflect this policy.  We will consult with groups and individuals so that services may  be improved to meet their needs.  We will ensure that all who represent the management committee are aware of, understand and operate this policy.

 

EMPLOYER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Eastville Midville and New Leake Village Hall Management Committee

 

Ÿ        Is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of this policy

Ÿ        Will ensure that all connected with the village hall understand and practise the principles of this policy

Ÿ        Will not victimise anyone providing information about discrimination

 

It will be the responsibility of the Management Committee Secretary to inform the committee about developments or difficulties relating to this policy.

 

EMPLOYEE’S/USER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

 

All employees of the Eastville, Midville and New Leake Village Hall Management Committee and users  of its services

 

Ÿ        Will be required to co-operate with measures to ensure and promote equal opportunities

Ÿ        Will neither practise any form of discriminatioon nor use discriminatory language

Ÿ        Will draw to the attention of the committee any acts of discrimination

Ÿ        Will not victimize anyone who has provided information about discrimination

 

REVIEW

 

This Equal Opportunities Policy will be review by the Eastville, Midville and New Leake Village Hall Management Committee at each Annual General Meeting.
